Many parents came to our celebration of our Scottish Week of learning.

Sparkle class ran a vote. Do you believe in the Loch Ness Monster?

The votes have been counted!

And 52 people said “Yes, I believe in the Loch Ness Monster.”

6 people said “No, I do not believe in the Loch Ness Monster.

The Loch Ness Monster was spotted in Sparkle Class this afternoon!

Sparkle class thought that Nessy was a kind monster. She would eat burgers and like to listen to the bagpipes.

Sparkle Class are learning all about Scottish things at the moment. Today we looked at Tartan.

We learned that Tartan is a pattern made up of straight lines, and you see Tartan on clothes and things like blankets, boxes of biscuits and even buses!

We then tried to make our own tartan patterns using paint and crayons.

Which pattern is your favourite?

P1 learned about penguins and then painted some beautiful backgrounds for their paper penguins. We think they look very smart!

The school is open today. The roads and pavements are still icy so please be careful on your way to school.

Millbank Primary school is open today – Wednesday 17th January 2018.  Please take extra care on your journey to school.

At the end of our church service today we had a surprise.

The Out Of The Box theatre company told the nativity story with puppets.

It was lovely to hear what words the little donkey would have chosen for his song.

Well done to all the children who sang and performed so beautifully.

Sparkle Class traveled all the way to Elgin and met a very special person today (all thanks to Howdens Joinery and Decora)
Decora’s of Elgin, very kindly, opened their Christmas grotto for just for us.
When we arrived Santa was just outside feeding his reindeer, and we were able to pop in and say hello.
On the way to his grotto, we got to see some very talented musical instrument playing bears, and walk through a winter wonderland full of Christmas trees and sparkling lights.

We spent a long time with Father Christmas and each child got a really lovely present.

After that we had some lovely biscuits and juice in the restaurant.

Then it was back on the bus and a special trip to McDonalds for our lunch.

Christmas really did come early for Sparkle Class today.

Everybody had a really special time today and we can’t thank Howdens Joinery enough – who very generously paid for our trip today, and Decora’s who opened the grotto just for Sparkle Class. It’s lovely to experience so much kindness especially at this time of year.

Sparkle class collected a big cheque from the Co op a few weeks ago and it made the local newspapers.
