Over the last few weeks Primary 1 have been looking after bean plants and learning how to keep them healthy. In class we have had some jars with bean seeds in them. One jar did not get watered, one was kept in the dark and the other one was watered and kept in the light. It has been very interesting to find out what would happen and the children have been amazed by the colour of the plant which was kept in the dark. As for the plants in pots; well, they have gone home now so hopefully some of them may go on to produce bean pods. Now, we just have to watch and wait to see what will happen to our caterpillar friends…
