P5/6 had great fun and learned lots during Maths Week!
We used the giant trees in the school grounds to learn about measuring and used our figures to calculate their height and age. We had great fun making paper aeroplanes of different sizes and models, and then took them outside to fly them. We measured how far they flew, discussed which ones flew the furthest and created a giant scatter graph.
We also carried out an experiment to see if our height, shoe size or stride length affected how fast we can run; we concluded that our fitness level had more of an impact!
You will also see us learning about properties of shapes and calculating their perimeters. We had a great week and made the most of the fine weather.
