Details about applying for a refurbished computer or laptop - ![]()
Budding Engineers main focus is to inspire STEAM learning into education.![]()
Over the last few days, we have been busy refurbishing old computers and laptops that have been kindly donated to our project specifically on the basis that it is to benefit the families and young adults who cannot afford their own device for this type of digital learning across the highlands of Scotland.![]()
Another part of our criteria for being donated a laptop/desktop is that the person using it can benefit from using several of the educational learning applications that we put on the equipment. All the learning applications we include have a reference to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) in some way.![]()
We also ask that people can provide feedback and how the device has benefited them.![]()
There are a number of families across the whole of Scotland that are unable to purchase electronic devices (i.e. laptops, iPads, tablets,
etc.) and are instead trying to use their mobile phones for online learning. Some of these families may have potentially borrowed a device from their school to be able to get through this difficult time.![]()
If you do not have your own device for digital learning and are aged between 5 and 25, living in the Highlands of Scotland this includes all children and young adults with additional needs.![]()
The only charge to the family will be for postage outside of the Caithness area.![]()
