We looked at our new class PE equipment bag and discussed what skills we could develop. The children then designed some PE activity ideas for the class to take part in. Last week we used Abbie's ideas and this week we used Kai's. Well done everyone!
We have been discussing the importance of working as a team, and the skills involved with being a good team member. From P.E. to Maths, Literacy to Health and Wellbeing, we have been supporting each other and remembering to be kind. Here are some pictures of us working together to look at the properties of shapes and playing our Maths ladder game, and of course some team-building P.E. activities.
P6/7 have been busy taking advantage of the good weather by doing their daily mile each day for health and well-being. The P7s have also been trialling their organisation for outdoor learning day with the P6s. The class have also been doing various number revision activities in their maths stations using chromebooks, multiplication loop cards, multiplication Smartboard games and textbook work to consolidate and show evidence of their learning. Today we read our reading books then worked in small groups choosing a page to create outside using natural materials. We decided some of the skills we used were: working together, discussing our choices, choosing materials and using our creative skills.
We have been very busy in primary 1/2. The children have been learning and revising their phonics and practicing their spelling. We did a unit of work on the Rainbow Fish story which the children loved, they really enjoyed making their own rainbow fish and primary 2 did some fantastic writing about it. Over the last couple of weeks we have been working hard at recognising, identifying and naming a variety of emotions. We have written stories about mood monsters and drawn mood monster faces as well as working out what to do to make us and others, feel better when we feel down. What a busy couple of weeks it has been in the Rainbow and Sparkle Rooms where lots of fun has been had learning through play. Construction is a firm favourite in the Sparkle Room where the boys and girls enjoy using all sorts of objects to build with. There has been some great problem solving taking place.
