The activities today were as yesterday, with the other groups. Pupils enjoyed the hike and had great leaders who told them all about the wild plants and flowers they saw. The weather was great again and this evening the kids are enjoying some karaoke 🎤What a super week it’s been, looking forward to seeing everyone back at school tomorrow. 😎
Today 2 groups were on a long hike, past a wind farm and up a hill. Activities for the other 2 groups were raft-building, crate climbing and laser tag. Same activities tomorrow but for the other groups. Well done to all the climbers and builders, it’s been another active and happy day. 😀
Here are some more photos from day 2, the Wi-Fi isn’t great here so we had problems uploading. It’s a bit cooler today but dry and bright, just getting ready for breakfast.😎
It’s been another glorious day here. We have enjoyed bushcraft, canoeing and zorbing. Mrs Laws, Mrs MacInnes and Mrs Robertson have come to visit this evening and are learning a new outdoor game with the pupils. We will all sleep well tonight! 😊
We are settling down for the night here, after a busy and happy day. Activities today were Jacob’s ladder, orienteering, mini paintball and archery. Pupils are in 4 groups, they did two activities today and will do the other two on Friday. Fairburn staff have made us very welcome and the food has been excellent. The sun came out late afternoon so we enjoyed football, capture the flag, rounders and tug o’ war in the sunshine after tea.
What a super day our Pupil Parliament organised for us to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. They planned and delivered fantastic activities for all classes – horse-racing, a quiz, finding out about corgis, designing crowns and making paper Red Arrows aeroplanes. Great leadership skills being developed and we all had a lovely day. Thank you so much to all Pupil Parliament reps and to Mrs Pilkington for co-ordinating all the plans.
Have a wonderful long weekend everyone, let’s hope the sun continues to shine!
Millbank won their section of the Inter-school sports today, at Bught park, Inverness. Our athletes earned a magnificent 95 points and were awarded the Claymore trophy.
A total of 29 medals were won and Devon Barclay received the award for Best Male athlete overall.
Here are some of our P1/2 pupils proudly showing their Kapla models –
What a fantastic opportunity for our pupils in P6/7 and GM 4-7 today, participating in workshops to develop their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) skills. Jacobs Engineering kindly sponsored the programme, providing the STEM kits to be used in schools.
Our P1/2 class also had a workshop – an early years engineering session using Kapla building blocks.
Very many thanks to Dr Evelyn Gray from the Inverness Science Festival team for organising and delivering the workshops.
We had a lovely walk round the river this morning, taking part in a scavenger hunt organised by P7 pupils. We enjoyed looking for numbers, letters and pictures in the lovely, sunny weather and we raised just over £200 for the P7 trip to Fairburn next month. Very well done to all P7 pupils and staff, it was a great start to the school day.
